In fact she is 2 in July. She absolutely loves the animal/insect kingdom, even ants she coos over for ages. I think she'd love a guinea or 2. I can't get a cat as I'm allergic but had guineas myself growing up and think they make lovely pets. But is 2yo too young? i think my dp will be

I don't think it's too young, as long as she's taught to be gentle with them from the start.

We bought two guinea pigs recently for our children. Our youngest is 5 + autistic, can be very noisy when he wants to be! Wasn't sure how he'd be with them but he's surprised us at how gentle he is when handling them, + spends ages just calmly watching them play!

I'm sure they'll make ideal pets for your dd. Baby guinea pigs need to be left alone for a few days before handling them, to get them used to their new surroundings, but you probably knew that as you've kept them before.
