Our dog who we rescued, actually came to us in early stages of pregnancy which we didn’t know!
she’s now 8 weeks and 3 days (59 days)
she’s leaking a clear fluid in small but noticeable amounts.
she weed in her whelping pen but this was clear with no smell?
temp is fluctuating from 37.4-37.7
any advice or help welcome.
she has a good vets and an appointment tomorrow afternoon for a general check up which we’ve been doing every 2 weeks.
just intrigued as google is helpless and conflicting!

I'd call the ooh vets for advice to be honest. Her temp is starting to drop so she could be going into labour, but with the leaking fluids I'd be a little concerned a pup's sack has burst and then the risk of infection is much higher if labour doesn't start imminently. They might be happy to wait until tomorrow afternoon or might want to see her tonight to be sure.

Anything unusual or concerning relating to a dog - let alone a pregnant bitch - should involve a trip to the vets. She could have been going into labour, it could have been anything.

Tbh the rescue centre it’s pretty bloody disgraceful for not providing you with help and support - successfully helping a bitch give birth, and providing aftercare, is no laughing matter

She had a trip to the vets yesterday. He was a senior vet and had absolutely no concerns for her. She was healthy and as she should be. Informed me the now jelly like discharge is her mucus plug coming away. This can happen in drips and drabs up to a week before labour. She may have a large litter for her breed and size but He is happy we continue what we are doing for her and call if there is any concerns during labour. She’s one tired mumma currently so I feel it won’t be long!
