My kittens prefer staying indoors

Hello!

I have two six month old kittens. Once they were neutered and had their vaccination I slowly introduced them to the outdoors when we were outside. I have a lovely secure garden and huge doors which are open most of the day in sunny weather. We also have a cat flap.

If go outside they will follow me, but as soon as I go in they come in too. I’ve never had this before, all my cats have loved being outdoors. It’s lovely they are so attached to me, but I want them at least to go outside to go to the toilet 😝 Do I just remove their tray?!

No!
You wait until they are happy to go outside and do the toilet outside and even then I'd keep hold of the tray. It was only when my 2 had avoided using the tray for several months that I got rid of ours. I'm sure they were a few years old by then.

If you have cats you should always have a litter tray. They should be in at night anyway.

You clearly need to restrict their screen time.

Sorry, serious answer now.

Just let them do it in their own sweet time. Keep a tray for them indoors always.
