Cat flea and parasite treatments

Hello All

I’m looking for some advice regarding flea and parasite treatments for my 2-year-old cat weighing like 4-5 kg. Currently, we’re using Prinocate for fleas and Profender for parasites. However, I feel like the vet is charging quite a lot, including extra fees just for the prescription.

Can anyone recommend equally effective alternatives to these medications? Also, I’d appreciate suggestions on where to buy them—either in-store or online—with fast delivery.

Thanks in advance!

Doesn't your vet do a health plan? I think ours is 15 quid a month for Bravecto for fleas and Profender for worms plus we get annual jabs and check up plus 10% off any treatment.

keep in mind that whatever the potion, the fleas become resistent & you have to move on to another option, you vet may know what is already most effective / has least resistence in your area, and that may be an expensive option if it's a newer potion. We have cycled thru frontline & advocat & pills for worms, had to change when what used to work perfectly stops working. My cats currently have Ceresto collars for fleas & ticks and occasional pills (dromal?) for the worms.

I'm indorexing my house this weekend ... fun...not. lol

ps: there are warnings about counterfeit flea control too, more likely online, especially ceresto collars , because they just seem like simple plastic. I have to go out now, but Nudge me later, happy to list some websites I have purchased from before & I think are good bets for getting legit products.

We use Advacate for our cats. The vet gives us the prescription so we can order it online so it's cheaper.

@lljkk hello, I’m not the OP but I am a new cat mom. I am hoping to get a prescription from my vet to then order online flea/worm treatment. Please could you list the websites you thought were good. Thank you.

I think these are legit companies for flea control items, I've used them repeatedly.

Pet Drugs Online
VetUk Ltd
Animed Direct

I dunno which anti-flea potions they have right now, though
