Dog trackers - does anyone here use one?

The main ones seem to be Pawfit and Tractive. I currently use Pawfit but find that their Pawfit 3 trackers have some issues at times. I've gone through a number of replacements in the past year, all under warranty.

Was looking at Tractive but their upfront subscription fee of at least two years (apparently non refundable after 30 days) isn't appealing.

Pawfit's customer service via email is very good.

How good (or bad) is Tractive's customer support for UK residents? Do they have any UK contacts? From what I've seen so far it's all US-based and reviews are poor.

Also, if you use another type of tracker, do you have any recommendations?

Is there even a good GPS-based tracker which you pay for upfront with no monthly subscription?

I have PitPat, was about £120 and no subscription.

We have it mainly for tracking exercise time/distance (fat dog), but it does have GPS and you can track location, say if you lost the dog.

However, it doesn't save walks or anything fancy. There is a subscription for that 😂

I like it!

Thanks, out of interest how is the PitPat for checking the tracker's location? For example, do you just press a button on the app and a few seconds later the location appears, or does it take longer than that? I ask this because in the FAQ it says it can take up to a few minutes.

We have Tractive and it seems to record pretty accurately. I’ll be interested to hear about others as our subscription is about to end.
