We rescued a 6m kitten last month.
There was a post on Fb (a friend) whereby the person had been left with her, told that they were coming back the next day, never did and then blocked her. She is extremely allergic to cats but still kept her for several weeks to make contact with the person who ditched her, but no contact was made. I said I’d take her in on a foster / rescue basis and take care of her, but the previous owner hasn’t come forward so we assume they wanted rid.
She is absolutely adorable, and has settled really well. We didn’t know her history so she had a full vet check, got jabbed, chipped and I said I’d be back in two weeks to get her spayed (she was in heat so to allow the time) and made the appointment. The vets have said if the previous owner comes forward to contact them first as they don’t believe they have the best interests at heart (I agree tbf).
She is due to go in tomorrow at 8:30 for her spay, but has come into heat today. When we got our last cat spayed as a kitten she was in heat for a week, out for 2 days and then back in.
The vet’s is closed today until 9am on the phones tomorrow, so I can’t ask, but I didn’t think they liked to operate when they’re in heat?
