I have one cat, she is happy indoors and pottering around the garden but never ventures any further. Sometimes next doors cat appears in the garden and is quickly sent on her way by my cat. There are several other tabby cats locally but they don't come in our garden.
Last night I could hear howling, looked out but couldn't see anything. Today I have a white cat, with a collar, in the garden, she appears well but won't stop howling. I have the back doors open as the weather is lovely and she keeps trying to come in. My cat is getting stressed by it and hisses then hides. A couple of times she has chased the intruder off but I just went downstairs to find my cat laying on the back step with the howling cat laying on the grass about 6 foot away.
I haven't fed the new cat, am trying not to encourage it, but have no idea where she has come from or how to encourage her to go back there. Any suggestions gratefully received :)
