Dog acting strangely

Anyone any ideas?
Eating normally
seeking out treats
drinking normally
wagging tail
no pain when poked prodded all over!

BUT

will not settle
following us around
keeps lying in really stupid places like she tried to get under the occasional table in living room.
Whined when I left her to shower even though others were around.
Tried to climb on my lap (she’s a lab!)
hasn’t slept all day (usually sleeps hours)

Could be a lot of things. Is she spayed ? If not has she been near any male dogs ? How old is she ? My dog went really weird when her anal glands swelled up she had to go to the vets to have them emptied 🤢
Is she going to the toilet normally?
Any head shaking ?

Phantom pregnancy
Hearing mice under the floor
Confused by the clocks changing

How old is she? Getting stuck under furniture can be a sign of dementia

Yes she is spayed. Toileting as normal and no head shaking. It’s really odd.

Hmm she is 9 so a little young for dementia maybe?

Has anything happened lately? Anyone in the family unwell? New additions? Operations? Job changes?

AtlasPine · 04/04/2025 22:43

Could you be pregnant?

motelhotel · 04/04/2025 22:44

🤔 phantom pregnancy is a good call !
Has she been home alone today ? Could something have spooked her like someone banging on the door or anything like that ?

I’m going through a MH crisis but have had many in the past and it’s never bothered her. No other changes.

Nope, not been alone. Been behaving like this since she came home from her walk. Wall was normal, usual route. Didn’t eat anything on walk. Played with several dogs.

Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't necessarily dismiss it though, dogs are sensitive creatures, and if all the other obvious stuff has been eliminated, and she's seen a vet, it could very well be related.

Dunnocantthinkofone · 04/04/2025 22:48

Most likely pain imo

Needs a vet check if it lasts more than a day or so, or if symptoms worsen
