Lost our beloved cat today

im absolutely heartbroken. Our lovely cat had a growth on her nose that she kept knocking and it would bleed. Vet said theyd take it off, all very routine. As soon as she went under the anaesthetic she had a heart attack and passed away. I was very much expecting the phone call to pick her up, only to be told we'd lost her. I'm devastated beyond belief. She was my lovely little sunshine that cheered me up everyday. I dont know what I'm going to do without her.

I was so excited to get the call to go and get her. Totally in shock. I never thought we'd loose her. She was only 9 and in pretty good health

What a terrible shock. I’m so sorry, it’s so painful when we lose them. Take some comfort if you can, that she knew nothing, no pain.

I keep looking out for her in all her favourite spots, thinking for a second she will be there.

Oh, I am so sorry about your little girl. We've lost several cats over the years. Each was unique and loved to bits. Our first cat died over 40yrs ago and we still talk about him and laugh at his silly little ways - the way he had to have the last word when meowing - ssh we'd say and the meows got quieter and quieter until it was just the lifting of a lip and no sound.

You will grieve and cry - and that's all ok, but the day will come when you can begin to remember and smile, then you will know you are healing. Remember cats leave paw prints on your heart

She was so silly! Her morning meow literally sounded like she was saying "hello". And she'd put her head in the litter tray and poop on the floor! Then she'd just curl up on me and cuddle for hours! She was my little shadow.

My other cat is looking for her. She sat in the cat carrier looking at me as if asking where she has gone??

I'm really sorry to read about the loss of your beautiful cat, she was clearly very much loved and the photo of her shows how happy her life must've been, with a caring family and the freedom to be outside doing her own thing and living her best life 💐

I’m so sorry . This happened to my 18 year old cat 🐈‍⬛ he went for a blood test but died of a heart attack at the Vets . It was such a shock as we were expecting to take him home too . So sorry for your loss .

That is truly shocking for you, I am so very sorry. It’s so much to process. The only thing you can tell yourself is that your darling girl didn’t know and didn’t suffer at all. She was adored every minute of her life. I’m so very sorry x

I'm so very sorry to hear that OP. I lost a young cat under anaesthetic for a very regular operation and I still replay that telephone call, I rang them to ask if she was awake after the op only to be told that she hadn't made it. I was beside myself with grief and shock, I cried for days. So I really understand xx

Sorry for all your losses too. It's like my heart literally hurts.
