I wouldnt bother with puppy pads especially in this weather when they can have constant access to the garden. You need to know what food they are on already really and slowly wean them to what you want them to have. Lots and lots of newspaper as mentioned. Book up classes now too.

If you train them using puppy pads you have to train them off them. We never bothered with any of our dogs. Just used a few sheets of newspaper and moved it closer to the door. In this weather I would focus on taking it out all the time and giving loads of praise. Gwen Bailey does a good puppy training book too.

Crates are wonderful things too btw. How are you going to transport it in the car?

this is the issue. I only have a citroen c1 and
i was going to put it in boot with dog guard for short journeys and i will look into a dog seatbelt. It depends how many travel in the car

Patience - but enjoy.

As a puppy ours had a love of burying kettles and eating through the plaster in walls. But he is the levliest dog in the world.

We used to buy ours soft toys from the charity shop to chew, still do now six years later.

I'm so jealous. Springers make the cutest puppies. I have a 5 year old one, and would love another puppy.
