My cat was run over today - thinking about getting another, maybe a Ragdoll?

Am very sad, she was run over and killed outside our house today. Its not even a really busy road.

Am already thinking about replacing her as so sad without her. We have a 3yo cat as well who I'm worried about been lonely.

A friend has a Ragdoll which is so sweet, but she never lets hers out. She says they can't be let out as they don't cope well outside. Does anyone have one? Or any advice about other pedigree cats - only had moggies before.

So sorry to hear that, stripey. The same thing happened to our cat a couple of years ago, it was heartbreaking.

Don't have any advice re the ragdoll as we are moggie owners too... just wanted to say sorry for your loss.

SO sorry about your cat. That made me a bit weepy, but most things do these days...

My grandmother had a ragdoll which she absolutely adored. It's true that you have to be careful with them, because they don't have a natural instinct for danger. My grandmother used to take her out on a lead, which was quite amusing!! She was a lovely cat, though VERY vain, and it's true that they just flop in your arms. I'd recommend them, but only if you don't mind high-maintenance pets!

MIL had & bred ragdolls, one of them was loving and friendly and had about 5 homes in the street where they lived but the other 2 where very moany and possesive of her, quite highly strung. I am biased but I'd recommend somali's because they are very very affectionate by nature.
