Do any of you have crabs?

Hermit crabs that is. My cousin has had some for just over a year. She has gone to France for 2 weeks, so I have the crabs here. What's the interest in them? They don't do anything, all they do is sleep, and sometimes tap on the side of the tank. Oh and they stink too.

I didn't even know you could buy crabs to have as pets untill she got these, they cost a hell of a lot as well. There are 4 in there, and your right they'd probably be happier on a nice sunny beach. Poor little things. I just wondered why someone would want them. Must ask her when she gets back.

No she got them from a pet shop, somewhere like pets at home I think.

They are probably not the beach type ones - there is a land crab that is sold that swaps over shells in a similar way. I also agree though not really the best of pets sadly. Well at least she has arranged proper care with someone while she is away anyway. Sorry they smell though [insert smelly emoticon]

no1putsbabyinthecorner, I should imagen my dd's are at school telling everyone that we have crabs.
I never expected them to smell, don't know why, but I really didn't.
