Anyone with asthma have budgies

I've been thinking for a few years of adopting budgies. There's 2 up for adoption near me. Only thing I'm concerned of is my DH has asthma. He says he's not worried as he never uses his inhaler and only triggered by cats sitting on him.

I'm not keen to get them and then he has issues as would not like to cause the birds distress by rehoming again, does anyone have any experience?

When I was a child and visited my grandparents who had budgies it didn't seem to be a problem for me. However when they went on holiday the budgies came to stay with us (and they were put in my bedroom as it was the quietist room) it used to make me wheeze. So I think over longer periods of time it has an affect on me. So you may not know until they've been with you a while.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.
