Grooming a reactive dog?

Hi all, we have a lurcher that hates going to the dog groomer but desperately needs to!
He's a perfectly friendly dog but really dislikes being groomed and will snap and bite if anyone tries.
The hair around his penis has become really unpleasant (think crusty with pee!) and we're worried it might cause an infection.
We've tried all sorts at home but he won't let us near.

I guess what I'm asking is -
Has anyone had success with a similarly reactivate dog going to the groomers?
Will groomers take on a dog like this?
Has anyone got round this with home re
medies?

Could you muzzle him to do it yourselves at home?

We've tried that I'm afraid. He still thrashes around and tries to bite us, so it's not safe to use clippers 😔

We too have a reactive dog that doesn't like being touched and gets aggressive. We were lucky enough to find a good groomer that he likes. I think just ring round and tell them all the situation and see which groomer fancies it.

Not clippers but maybe start with a good soapy wash in the area? If he's muzzled he can't bite?

Have you managed to find a groomer willing to take him on yet @Idreaminpastry?
