Hi
My sister has a female dog who is forever trying to hump peoples arms.
She is 7 years old and has always done this.
I have noticed that she does it more when she is trying to get attention if she feels a bit left out.
Is this normal behaviour off a female.

It's usually a dominance thing. Is she spayed?

I,m not sure I think she most likely is.

SOunds like dominance and/or learned behaviour even is she is spayed now. Have they not tackled if before now>

Female dogs tend to do this when they are in season but if this happens most of the time then it's more likely to be an attention seeking action etc.

They could try to stop this behaviour by firmly telling her no and immediately putting her into another room alone or a pet crate for a little while as soon as she makes an attempt to hump someone. She needs to learn the association of her attempted humping action is wrong and the consequences are being made to leave the room or put into a pet crate. If they keep this up she should stop doing it.

Hope that helps x
