Worried about leaving my cat alone for one night out

It’s Diwali season and the big day for those who celebrate is tomorrow (I live in a heavily populated Asian town).
In June, I booked a night out to see a show (I’d no idea it was Diwali back then when I booked). It starts at 7.30pm and their fireworks start at anytime from 5pm to late, round my way. I’m worried about leaving my cat for about 5 hours on his own. I’ve never left him alone with fireworks before. He usually just stays upstairs with anything like this goes on knowing I'm just downstairs. What can I do to add any comfort for him in my absence?
TIA.

Leave the tv or radio on to try and mask as much sound as you can. He will still feel the vibrations etc.... though.

Can you leave him locked inside so he isn't out at all? That is what we do at this time of year as soon as it's dark.
