Adopted cat!

Hello! We adopted a beautiful 6 year old cat last week, she’s already getting so much more confident around us (she’ll come out of her safe space whilst we’re in the room, play and the occasional stroke), when we brought her home we set up all her things in the spare room to give her the space and time she needed to adjust. We were thinking it would be nice now that she’s more confident with us if we could move some bits into the living room where we spend more of our time (ie her bed, scratching post etc) and keep the rest of her bits where they are. Can anyone offer any advice on if this would upset her/make her anxious? Or would it just be a better idea now that she’s more confident to get even more furniture/hiding places for her and place them into the living room for her to find on her own?

Yes i would definitely do this. Just make sure she still has some of her stuff in her safe room.

Personally I'd buy more for the living room - even if it's just one item for her in there.

Then you can keep the safe space as it is for now and give her the chance to explore, but also go back to safety if needed!
