Hi all, i have two syphnx cats.
After years of the house smelling of cat pee I thought i might get a cat house and put a small hole in it and our kitchen wall. I could then keep the litter tray in the house.
Has anyone put a hole in their wall, is it safe to do and do you need to builder??

Many thanks!!

I have an old house and thought about doing that for a dog flap before we decorated.I had an air brick hole on the outside and inside it had a fly vent both at ground level. But i got it blocked on the inside and wallpapered over it ( they put a new vent in the chimney, where they took the fireplace out)so i would have thought it was do-able?

My friend had one in the wall in her kitchen. She had quite a small kitchen and was having it all refitted and as she could get to the garden through french windows in next room she did away with back door in kitchen to make more room for cupboards. It wasn't really a flap, more like a plastic tunnel. I don't know how her tubby cat got through it but he did!

Dh did ours - it is safe. It didn't take him long, maybe an hour. He cut it with an angle grinder and then banged the bricks out with a chisel. He plastered the bare brick inside the little tunnel.
