Question about worms in a puppy, Sorry, I know it's yuck!

We got a puppy 2 weeks ago. We took it to teh vet last saturday after we had it a week for it's injections.
The vet gave us a worming tablet. Puppy had to have 1/2 the tablet when we got back from the vets, and the other half 2 weeks later (this saturday coming). We did this, and have noticed what look like worms in the dogs poo. They are dead worms, but worms all the same. They actually look like cooked spaghetti.
Is this normal? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but we had 2 dogs for years and they were wormed regularly and we never ever saw things like that in their poos.
Also with our older dogs we just used Bob Martin womring tablets, is it better to use these or something from the vets?

This is all perfectly normal for puppies with heavy worm burdens and a sign that the wormer is doing the job properly. Follow the instructions as given by the vet. The wormers from the vet are likely to be far superior to what you used to use.

OK thanks. Will see about buying wormers for him from the vets for the time being

I had this once with my puppy, but a few of the worms were still alive, it was horrible! I rang the vets and they suggested I came in and got another dose to give him a week later (he was going a month between wormers at that age), they said, as beautifulgirls did, he must have just had a high worm burden, he'd always been regularly wormed but must've picked them up just after his previous worming,I gave him the next dose and he's been regularly wormed since and we haven't seen another worm since. I would always get them from the vet, or buy the same make from an online veterinary supplier, I use drontal I sometimes get it from the vets, sometimes online, but it was always at the vets when he was a pup as I had to keep getting him weighed. Pet shop wormers just aren't as strong. I'd give your vets a ring and speak to them about the wormss, hope you don't see any more
