Hi Does my female guinea pig look pregnant she has been looking like she’s getting a lot bigger and more pear shaped around stomach area she has gained 41g in 4 days she was 448g now 489g we got her and her sister 10 days ago from pets at home they are definitely both girls her sister is small her sister weighed 306 g 4 days ago now weighs 324g she has gained 18g under half than her sister pets at home said they were around 11 weeks old

She looks a little plump. Do Guinea pigs develop teats?

Ex breeder here, yes she is very likely pregnant. The vast majority of sows give birth very efficiently. Just keep the enclosure clean and a vast supply hay and very varied fresh veg.

If you are 100% sure that the "sister" is female then they can stay together. Get in touch with P@h as they are duty bound to provide for the babies as they sold a pregnant sow. You will likely get an extra care and some shavings/hay.

As the babies become closer to being born you can sometimes hear them grinding their teeth inside the mother. It's crazy how cute they are when they come out, fully formed tiny babies!

Oh thank you I keep on top of her home daily and their veg I will definitely keep a close eye on her I’m not sure how far along she may be if she is but will make sure she’s well looked after

If she is pregnant I’d put money on the sister being pregnant too. That happened to me with 2 girls from a pet shop, one had one baby and the other had three

Yes - if they have both always been together, chances are they both got impregnated by the same male!

Are you sure you haven't just been over feeding them accidently and she's the greedy one and been over eating?

There is actually a scale for obesity with Guinea pods and it looks like carrots shares of potato 😂. Swings like this are very likely pregnancy, especially as the puss are new to the owner. Babies are born fully developed and the mate offspring can impregnate their own mothers within 2-3 weeks from birth ( which is why the op needs to sex then and seperate male babies a suitable time.). Over weight generous tend to have a double chin and be fat all over, not in the sides. But if a female has 100% never seen a mage and suddenly gets these saddlebags it can be indicative of reproductive cyst. But I'm 99.9% sure that this is just a pregnant pig as p @h seem to only sell pregnant pigs :(
