What is the least cruel thing to do? Please help

A gorgeous cat has started showing up at my dad’s house over 300 miles away. After a few weeks, we’ve determined he’s a stray (no microchip, sleeps outside in a bush, no neighbours know who he belongs to and no response to posts on local Facebook groups).

My dad isn’t in a position to keep him, but I would love to take him. I want to do what’s best for the cat. I know all of the charities in London are oversubscribed, so he might be stray for a while if I don’t take him. However, I also think a 7 hr journey to my house might traumatise him and be the crueller option.

What is best for the cat? Wait for a spot in a local shelter to open up while being a stray, or endure a 7 hr train journey with me?

Grateful for any advice!

7 hour train journey. No brainier.

I agree, take him. You get specialist pet transport companies that drive cats to new homes so that's probably a better option than a train.

Take him and give him the lovely home he deserves. He might not like the journey but he’ll be happier in the long run.
