Urgent - can guinea pigs lap water?

Am pet sitting for neighbours and dd has managed to snap the waterbottle spout thing.

I've tried sellotaping it but its very wobbly and not watertight. Ahhhhhh.

Yes - put water in small, heavy container in corner of cage and they'll drink from that. They'll probably spill some and knock it over so get ready for more cleaning out! They don't drink much if you're feeding grass/carrots/apples etc.

i think they must have lapped water before sucky bottles were invented

i have had g pigs for about 35 years. they will drink water from a bowl (any thickness) but it may take a day or two for them to realise what to do if they've been drinking water from the bottle - but thirst will prevail!!
