Indoor Guinea Pigs - particularly cages

I have been looking around for a decent indoor cage for a guinea pig but don't seem to be able to find one.

Does anyone have an indoor gp and where do they keep them? Our kitchen is too small for a cage.

Thinking of getting 2 but only a possibility (on the basis that I refuse to get a rabbit).

Pets at Home do a really good one on offer for about £26 and a free guinea pig pack ( hay, feed, vitamins, sawdust etc). We got one at the weekend so I think the offer is still on.
We keep Haggis in the sunporch.

I have just found a load on Ebay (I don't know why I never think to look there!).

Petsathome website is being updated at the moment. £26 is good. Is it big enough for 2? I have been reading that they are better kept in pairs (probably smellier though!).

Yes, it is quite a large cage and I'm really taken with it
It is the wooden ended one and it is about 4 foot by 2 foot. It has a built in drinker and two feeders. I am thinking of getting another guinea pig to keep The Haggis company.
ps It is really easy to clean- cage, not The Haggis

Is is mainly plastic?

I would have to keep it in the front lounge so it would have to be easily kept scrupulously clean.

It would have been so much easier to get a cat.......

Can't help you with where to get one as we live in France & bought ours here, but just to reassure you they don't smell one bit. We have 2, they are out in a run in the garden most of the day & come in when it gets dark, the cage is in the lounge & we clean them out once a week - newspaper & hay, I'm 20 weeks pregnant with a v. heightened sense of smell & I don't even notice any smell when I'm cleaning the cage (as it invariably will be you cleaning them out too!)

ours has a plastic bottom and coated bars, about 2' x 3' and lived in the kitchen :p enough space for 2 guineas with loose exercise during the day.

you'll need to get 2 guineas anyway as it is cruel to keep 1 guinea pig on it's own. they are very sociable animals.

I got the petsathome one for my two. It is big enough.

I use a small layer of sawdust and use the rest as hay. I find the sawdust really smells even if you clean it out daily which I have to do as you would not believe how often these things poo!!!
