Finding new owners for fish

Possibly the wrong place for this question but maybe people know…

I’m buying a house with a massive fishpond. For various reasons we need to get rid of the pond. It has a number of what I think are goldfish in them - maybe about 40/50, ranging in size from say 3 inches to about 8 inches (this is a guesstimate on number and size based on quick viewings)

I’ve asked the vendor to relocate the fish before we take possession of the house, but if he says he won’t it’s not a dealbreaker and I’ll have to sort it once we’ve completed.

what would you recommend for how we should get rid of the fish - I wouldn’t want any money for them but I don’t know where you would advertise them… eBay? fb marketplace? Are there any rules/restrictions? (I’ve never had any interest in fish so have no idea!)

I would ask on your local Facebook community page if anyone with ponds would be able to rehome them.

Identify them first. I know someone who bought a house with a pond and the Koi Carp were worth £20k

So you don't know yet if the vendor will leave them behind...
I would worry about this one it's happened!

Is there a neighbourhood Whatsapp group? If so, post on that.

Otherwise, local FB page, Freecycle, Freegle, Gum Tree, Preloved, Aquaist Classifieds.
