Cat still detests kitten after five months

Tried feliway, reintroductions that are slow and careful, scent swapping. The two year old female HATES the 8 month old female kitten. My other three year old male gets on with both. All three are neutered. We adore all three. How long might this process take? Might they never become friends? If not - the unthinkable - we may have to think about rehoming the newest addition as my first responsibility is to the older cat. This would be devastating. All advice/experiences welcome

Not always! There's a cat in our street, three cat household, and he makes feline friends and brings them round to his house lol! It's so cute watching them all playing!

@soupfiend is correct. Some cats will tolerate it and adapt but the majority do not like it - and trying to deny that fact won't change it.

And to be very clear - it's the majority but not all cats

It causes them a lot of stress as they are constantly on high alert

I'd probably give it another few weeks but it would probably be kinder all round to rehome the kitten

I believe I said that very thing in my post, that some cats may even enjoy it.
