Came home about 2 weeks ago and found a packet of ground coffee on the kitchen floor and it had been ripped open by one of our cats. Think we left it on the kitchen worktop when we were out which is not unusual. We didn't think much of it, picked up the coffee and put what was salvagable into a plastic bag. Cats were out so not much in the way of evidence but I doubt it was the fish which did it.
A few days later we found the same thing had happened. This time the plastic bag had been ripped open and there was coffee on the worktop. Since then we have ensured the coffee is put away in the cupboard.
But last night we came home to discover thecupboard has been opened and once again the bag of coffee has been dragged out of the cupboard and ripped to shreds. To get at it she had to have opened the door and somehow bypassed the tea and sugar to get at it. Our cupboards are not exactly empty so this would have taken some effort. These are cats which have never to my knowledge opened a cupboard door before.
We have two cats so not sure which one has been doing it but both are in good health. The coffee is now in a sealed metal tin but I am just curious why one of them has suddenly started behaving like this. They are 4 and 5 so not kittens.
