Dog acting weird with early pregnancy?

Heya, bit of a weird one - Just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar?

My dog has started acting really weirdly with me lately, like he's afraid of me one minute but then desperate for close affection the next.
Head down low, ears back, unhappy strained grunts when I try to pet him, sometimes even growling at me a bit. Then randomly he'll hop onto my chair and grunt if I don't give him fuss and he'll push his head under my arm for cuddles - It seems to have coincided with very early stage pregnancy.

(He's also been extra affectionate with DH. He's never really been one for humping, but the last 3 or 4 days? It's happened at least once every day, sometimes more 😅)

Like, so early stage I thought I was just getting evaporation lines on Christmas Eve. Then I got a definite positive on an early detection test just a few hours ago.
There's gotta be a week in it, if that, surely he shouldn't be able to sense anything yet?
And even if he can, why is it fear and almost like mood swings?
Sounds sappy, but it's heart-breaking - I've had him from a puppy and he's 4 now, I just don't want my furry son to hate me lol :') </3

Our dog started getting quite whiny about any outside noises during the early stages of my first pregnancy, he definitely knew before I had a positive. He was also extra soppy at times.

Sounds like a conflict of dominance. Sees your DH as a rival (for want of a better word), that's why they do the hunping thing. When he sees you he also sees a future family member to add to the pecking order but at the same time he wants extra reassurance from you that he's doing good.

Chances are he will grow accustomed to the change soon enough.
