What is a good treatment for dog's mange?

Hi there, can someone recommend a treatment to my dog's mange? I think it's mange because he has an area on his bum that looks like I gave him a bad shave with my husband's razor (I didn't), the skin is red and scaly. I take my dog to the allotment and I have seen a few mangy foxes. So I assume it's a mange. My dog does have a vet. However I would appreciate if someone could recommend a treatment that doesn't involve a trip to the vet. Many thanks in advance.

It sounds like fleas.
My dog went bare at the top of her tail.
It was fleas.
Poor dog, get him treated.

Go to the vet. You’ll need a skin scrape to determine which kind of mange it is, if it is mange at all.

He needs to see a vet , even if it’s fleas if it’s got to the stage of looking bald / scaly he will need prescription strength stuff.

There are two different notes that cause mange so you need a proper diagnosis.
But most cases that present to me as mange are fleas or bacterial skin infection.
