Portuguese Water Dogs

I am allergic to most dogs. Not terribly but irritatingly.

Have had a labradoodle to stay and still a bit allergic. Worried that will become a problem.

Someone in the park suggested Portuguese Water Dogs and have read up a bit about them.

Does anybody have one? Do you have advice to offer?

A close friend has a pair of Irish Water Spaniels - lovely dogs and quite a rare breed! I am looking at one as our next addition. They’re non shedding and typically classed as hypoallergenic (although no dog is completely hypoallergenic, it’s still a risk no matter what breed you go for). Her DC and DH have very severe allergies, including to dogs and have got along really well with them, no issues whatsoever

I used to know someone with one. Quite bouncy and playful, overall a nice dog.

You could also consider Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Bichon Frises, and any of the sizes of poodle.

It could be worth going to one of the Discover Dogs events where you could meet various breeds.
