Why does my cat keep eating the wicks on candles?

All the candles in my house have no wick left as she has bitten them off. She even tries it when they are lit

Why?

how weird - is she a house cat?

Brangelina · 13/03/2008 22:27

Don't know but mine licks bubble wrap like there's no tomorrow.
The other one tucks into the bonsai on a regular basis and chews the washing up sponge.

Nowt so strange as felines....

my cat is addicted to the flame retardent on sofas. He doesn't bother with the washable covers but if they come off, even for 5 minutes, he licks the bare cotton cover underneath for hours.

It's really revolting actually, all you can hear is this "scritch, scritch, scritch" as he rasps his tongue on the cotton, and there is a huge wet patch.

Is she pregnant

Why does my cat happily pork Jamaican Ginger Cake, but won't touch chicken skin?

DrNortherner · 13/03/2008 22:32

She's not pregnant no.

Cats are funny aren't they? She's not a house cat - we have a cat flap.

She is mooching around in one of those moods tonight. Trying to get a pen from the pen tidy/batting ds's lego pieces under the sofa and pouncing on anyone who dares to walk upstairs

and what are the 'Molluscs and crustaceans' present in prawn flavoured cat food?

I make her some cat food once, I stripped a chicken of all the bits, prureed it, set it in the fridge, chopped it into chunks, and gave it to her with the pure jellified chicken stock I had boiled the bones in.

She wouldn't touch it. She kept pawing the bread bin and meowing pitifully.

I wondered if it was some weird substitute for eating grass - you know when they make themselves sick when they have a furball.

But if she's got a catflap it must be just natural oddness.
