Cat limping

My cat has been limping for just over a day. I took a photo of his paw, and wondered if anyone had any experience with something similar?

I haven't got paid yet so can't take him to the vet for at least one more day.

Thank you

When our cat started limping it turned out to be an abscess that had got infected after another cat bit him. The vet drained it and gave antibiotics.
Hopefully it’s nothing too serious for your cat and you get him sorted soon!

How is your DCat now @Rose1999?

When my cat started limping, I examined his paws and found that two toes had got crossed over each other!! I uncrossed them and he was fine...

I know I'm swimming against the munsnet tide for vets but I've never taken a cat to the vet for a sore paw.

Can you touch it to see if there's a visible injury or is it too sore?

If you can satisfy yourself there's nothing sticking in it I'd just give him some time to heal.

If he's walking, eating and washing himself he'll be fine. If he's obviously going downhill take him to the vet.

He's so much better thank you!! I didn't end up taking him to the vet as I wanted to monitor him. Slowly but surely, he started to walk a bit better and now he's pretty much back to normal! I still have no idea what he had done, as he was limping very badly. Fortunately, he has recovered (without expensive vets bills!) ❤️

I kept him home, monitored him and he's not pretty much back to normal 🙌
