Cat has worms

Hey everyone,

My cat has worms but he won't take tablets, he will scratch if you try and prise his mouth open to pop the tablet in! I've tried crushing them in food he won't have it knows it's in there, I've tried disguising it with ham or something nice for him to eat he won't touch it either. I was wondering what else I can do? The liquid form don't seem to work either...... the poor cat is suffering and I don't know how to get rid of them 🤦🏼‍♀️ any advice or suggestions welcome 😊

You can get a spot on wormer.
Also Panacur sachets that you sprinkle on food, or paste could put it on his paws ?
Sympathise I have a cat that is wise to any hidden tablets, even applying spot on flea and worming treatment is an ordeal at times.

We use a spot on for worms
Think its profender and we get it from the vet

I've just ordered that stuff to see if I can get it in him by hiding it in his food but he's soo not silly 🤣

Did you get the spot on treatment from the vet? It's much better than stuff you can just buy.

You said you tried spot on but which one was it? Was it from the vet or did you buy it yourself? OTC products don't always work

AlltheFs · 27/11/2023 09:56

Dronspot is usually effective but you may need the vet if worms have got a hold.

minipie · 27/11/2023 09:59

Yea there's loads of different spot ons and some are MUCH better than others. Worms are resistant to lots of the over the counter ones. We use Felpreva which you need to get from vets ( it also does fleas)

I'd say vet and quickly become works are bad for humans.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 28/11/2023 22:31

And make sure tapeworm is included
