Happy guinea pigs…do you use bath mats? Advice please

So piggies have come inside now even though they have a great omlet set up in the garden but it’s just too wet now.

Cage all cosy with fluffy hay etc but i read about pigs loving a bath mat…so I have put one in scrunched up and they are popcorning 😆

If you use bath mats do i tomorrow - air dry/don’t wash, machine wash/no detergent/air dry, or wash with a small amount of detergent etc

My pigs were on fleece mats and hay in a litter box to help contain the hay so they could dig in. I also had car wash glove things in there they loved to snuggle on. I'd wash them every week with just detergent and air dry. No softener as it decreases absorption. We had a couple of sets of everything so just switched it out. They were very happy pigs 😊

We use fleece and Aldi bath mats and the pigs love them. I stick the whole lot in the washing machine once a week, in a bag thing that stops the fur clogging up the machine.

I also have a fleece donut thing they love snoozing on!

Is that one of those bags you put undies in? Hadn’t thought about clogging washing machine 😵‍💫
