Firework stress

We live in an area where Diwali is the major holiday.

Our Guinea pig is currently going bananas because bangs scare the shit out of him. The other boy honestly isn't fazed. Eldest is 3. Always been a nervous boy.

Currently camped in bedroom snuggled while he cries in fear.

Any ideas?

Sorry OP no suggestions but bumping for you. Sick to death of bloody fireworks over here! Been going on weeks for various reasons. Hope someone has some tips for you.

I'm not a big fan either. When we lived more rurally, it was manageable.

Unfortunately the older the eldest gets, the more clingy he becomes.

Sympathies! Our dog hates them. We have started her on some anti anxiety medication we got from the vet a few weeks ago which help take the edge off, but it’s still very much an issue.

Around here the fireworks will be on and off until New Year’s Day now. 🙁

When I had pets btw, they benefited well from Zylkene.

Put on some background noise we use alexa calm my cat if my animals get stressed maybe there is something on YouTube for guinea pigs?

This is going to sound very silly but I had quite a lot of success playing classical music to my dog when fireworks were going off. He was absolutely petrified of them but Classic FM played fairly loudly would calm him down. Might be worth a try.

Loud music, classical or otherwise. Fortunate that fireworks have been not too bad around my way so far but playing loud music helps to drown them out.
