Wooden flooring when you have dogs?

I would love to replace my wrecked old carpet/floorboards with wooden flooring but I’m worried about it getting scratched really easily by the dog and toddler. What have others done in this situation?

I live in a Victorian semi so would prefer to avoid something like LVT, which isn’t really in keeping with the style.

Any ideas much appreciated!

@Blahblah254 my mum and dad have laminate flooring and 4 dashounds so a crazy bunch and theirs hasn’t scratched and it’s been down about 5yrs now

Ours isn't scratched but DDog's claws are fairly short.

Two crazy spaniels, engineered wood floor, no scratching here. It's funny watching them try to corner at high speed though! Grin
