How many days did you cry for?

I cried on the way to vets, I cried while they did it, I cried all the way home and now I'm laying on my bed in a sodden heap. Please tell me it gets easier because my whole body seems to be hurting.

Losing your adored pet is so hard. I've lost so many, I can't remember how much I cried, but I still have a little tear over the loss of childhood pets (all cats in my case), the ones we lost in 2003, 2008 (2 in 6 months), 2009 (that was the 3rd inside 11 months). We lost our last boy in January 2022. I cried for weeks, and then adopted two rescue girls.

Every single one has their own place in my heart, and I now know I can't be happy without a cat in my home.

So sorry OP, it’s bloody horrendous, when we lost our dog, I was so distraught I wanted to move house. Took years for me to look at a puppy, without thinking, that will break your heart in 12+ years. Never got another, couldn’t go through that heartbreak again. Take it easy, still very early days.

So sorry for your loss OP, something I've not yet had to experience but something I know isn't a million miles away for a few of our pets now, why do they have to get old

I lost my beautiful dog yesterday. I'm frantic with grief. I'm alone in my house missing my shadow, as she followed me every where. I'm still instinctively expecting her to be under my legs or sat next to me or following me to the door. I have never felt pain like it.

Two months sober my cat died. Getting a new cat helped. I told some one I'd not seen for a while, that she has died and she was super nice and that made me cry.

@Moominprincess I am so sorry for your loss.

Once of the hardest things is dealing with her partner 😔 he's really gone into decline. He has the poops last week and then had a scary accident at the weekend. I think he's a bit all over the place like me.

It's 6 months and I don't cry any more. But I haven't been able to go on her favourite walk since.
