Afternoon, I have a lovely 2 year old boy who has never really adjusted to our dogs. They aren’t actively horrible to each other, but he is obviously very uncomfortable passing through rooms the dogs are in and I want to make his life a bit easier. (They’re old dogs and indifferent to his presence, so he’s very safe.)
Im about to have some work done to my house, and will have a new office and a utility room. Given the layout of the house it occurred to me that when they’re building the stud wall between the two we could have a cat pass through between the office and utility, kind of a hole sometimes in a cat face shape, which would mean he could get to his food, water and cat flap without going through the kitchen.
Then my husband saw an amazing bespoke cat house online, housed in a large dresser (quite roomy) with hanging toys, ramps etc.
we thought we could do this, have one entrance into the house through the wall, one through his flap to outside, and one through the cupboard into the room itself. His bed etc could go in there. He loves to hide in my wardrobe.
Has anyone ever done this? Would love to hear thoughts if you have, I don’t want to do it all and he refuses to use it 🤣
Or if you can think of a better solution or way to make this better I’m all ears!
