Cat play aggression - help!

hi all,

we rescued our cat earlier this year and he was fab. Over the months his (what we think is okay aggression) is just getting more and more intense. He goes after our feet constantly and the biting is enough to draw blood at times. He spends time outside during the day and we try to play with him as much as we can when he’s in, however the playing does seem to just ramp up the behaviours more at points!
My main issue is that he has started going after my 2 year old daughter. Being honest she doesn’t really bother with him and only gently strokes under our supervision so it’s not as if it’s provoked.
Feel completely stuck with it all tbh so need some advice please!

perhaps he’s overwhelmed from too much “playing”?

if he’s outside during the day , I would just let him relax when he’s in, just stroke nicely but don’t overstimulate

my cat does this when he’s knackered; it’s actually a sign that he’s had too much and needs to relax

Thanks for the response! We’ve tried this too unfortunately but he still ends up going a bit wild 😩
