Pup sick all over blanket from mother

We are travelling home with our new pup and he has been sick all over the blanket that smells of mum. Is there anyway to save it as presumably if I wash it the blanket will no longer smell of mum. Also should I bathe pup or clean him up with wipes. Worried subjecting him to a bath I his first day will be too much.

I'd just rinse the sicky bit of the blanket off with plain water. It doesn't get rid of all the doggy smell even to a human nose, and your pup will have a much better sense of smell than that.

Wipe him off with a warm damp flannel and with a bit of luck he'll think you're licking him like his mum.

Do not actually lick him.

Thank you @GuppytheCat

Good luck with him! It's a while since we had a puppy, but I remember feeling nearly as alarmed as when we were somehow allowed to take our firstborn home and look after him without any grown ups.

Do not actually lick him

Great advice @GuppytheCat Grin
