Posted about them a few days ago. I've done 3 days of protozin. Now not supposed to treat til day 6.
But fish are much spottier One keeps lying down on its side.
I don't drive, dh is away and I don't know what to do now Do I give them more protozin today. Do I euthanase (sp?) the dying fish and if so how.
my poor dds fish. never had a problem before and I'm worried shes going to lose several.

ohh my ds goldfish got the fishy lurg a few years ago, unfortunately didn't make it!!

I rang the vet, yes the vet, they were very kind and spoke to me, also I rang the local aquarium, they will advise you of the best thing to do, tell them what's gone on, they will know what to do for the best.

Hope they make it!

What sort of fish are they?

Are you certain it is whitespot and not some other infection?

Basic questions I know ...but might be relevant!

The ones badly affected are cherry barbs. They started off with a few tiny little white spots on thursday. Today theres been a big increase of lots of white spots. I don't know what else they could be? One little fish (dunno what it is) also tiny white spots but those are practically cleared up.
I think it was bought in on a little bristlenose we got a couple of weeks ago. had the tank for a year without any problems apart from some free floating algae recently. I do a 25% water change weekly so its quite a well maintained tank.

Double check your dosage calculations to be sure. And if you have have any scaleless fish (clown loaches etc) then iirc you can only use a half dose - check the instructions.
I didn't have a very happy time with cherry barbs, but I do seem to remember them doing some strange 'about to kark it' things and then performing resurrections. How are they today?

I have always found that whitespot did respond to treatments - even at the half dose due to clown loaches. But may take a few days to kick in.
You don't have a charcoal filter in the tank do you? If so that needs removing as it will filter out the treatment.
