What do you do with your cat when you're on holiday?

We don't have a cat (yet) but DS2 is desperate for a pet so I've secretly promised him a cat when we get back from Disneyland Paris in April (DP doesn't know this yet ).
Trouble is we're away for two weeks in August too and I don't know what we'll do with the cat. next door neighbours on one side are very old and on the other side very unfriendly.

Just the one for now. DS will be ecstatic. I asked him if he'd rather have a new baby brother or sister, or a cat. He chose the cat

Wise choice

When do you plan on telling DP? Before or after the holiday

LyraSilvertongue · 23/02/2008 21:05

Maybe after I've bought the cat

My Mum & Dad move in for short weekend breaks and look after dod & cat.

For longer, Dog goes to kennels and neighbor feeds cat, or we get a friendly known to us Uni Student to House sit. Give them pocket money - they enjoy the freedom.

I once got a kitten off a boyfrind when I was a teenager and sneaked it into the house under my jumper.

How long before you were discovered Oggs?

Not sure I could have a student living in my house while I was away Milliways. But it's a nice solution.
