Shih Tzu or Lhasa Apso?

We are thinking of adding a little dog to our family - hubby likes the LA but I am thinking Shih Tzu don't bark so much. Anyone with either of these sweet dogs got any advice?

I have a Lhasa, but have never had anything else so can’t compare. She rarely barks now but is old, when younger would bark mainly when someone/thing approached house or outside the garden. Wasn’t a big problem but we live fairly rural. She was quite stubborn to toilet train and took some patience. I am a big fan of this breed but no other experience to compare. Hopefully others can give you more advice

Our Lhasa has been the best dog our family could have hoped for. He had never been a barker except if there is a good reason in the night. Also he has a lovely deep bark rather than a shitzhu yap.
He is more robust and can walk for hours and in 14 years he has had no health problems at all.
I think shitzhus are a bit more delicate and my sisters (rescue) has had no end of health issues possibly due to overbreeding. They can be very flat faced with respiratory problems and have protruding eyes, with associated problems, they also sometimes have protruding lower jaws leading to feeding issues.

I have a Shih Tzu, she is the most sweetest chilled little dog, I've also had 3 Lhasa Apsos over the years too. To be honest there isn't any difference in my opinion, I loved them all, I would only ever have a Lhasa Apso or a Shih Tzu, they are great little dogs.

Shih zhu next door to me never stopped yapping.......drove me insane, thankfully they moved.......not soon enough! Totally put me off getting my own which I had been planning to do. I don't think you can tell from breed🤷‍♀️

Family has had Lhasa’s and I would never personally get one. Bark a LOT and incredibly stubborn.
