I am so sad - she was my little treasure and i miss her loads. thought i had done most of my crying on saturday but i am completely guilt ridden that i left her at the vets and didn't bring her home and plant her in the garden somewhere. i feel like i have just thrown her away or something, i am really heartbroken .

Oh ara, I am so sad for you. I also have an old cat I love very much, and I know how hard it will be to say goodbye. Don't feel bad about not bringing her home, you cared for her when she was alive and nothing else matters.

thanks rosa, i have been expecting it for years but it feels absolutely awful to lose her. i just adored her and she was my constant and faithful friend - the house feels very odd without her!

20 years is such a long time - it is bound to feel very strange and sad at first. She was very lucky to have had such a loving owner for all those years.

Oh, ara. My condolensces. There have been many an grand dame or old man cat who has moved on on this board recently.

I'm so sorry.

Our Persian, Smokey, had to be put down in October - he had heart failure and as he came to us as a stray, the vet could only guess at his age, which he knew to definitely be teenage.

I feel so awful about his death - he went so fast. We moved cities and we didn't realise it but he was already very ill. He died three days after hte move and it just seemed like everything's gone wrong since and it feels like a huge mistake and I'm still so guilty.

Can't bear to let him go - his ashes are in our wardrobe.

Big (((((HUGS)))).
