Dog pooping in the garden

We have two dogs, who don't always poop on their walkies but instead seem to prefer to wait until they get back home to do it in their own garden 🙄
I'm wondering is there any way to encourage them to poop in a particular area of the garden? Rather than just random places so that I don't have to inspect the whole garden daily 💩

Yes definitely but it will take training, I have a poop corner in my garden. It’s gravel because I find it easier to wash down and it’s different enough that my dog understands where the boundaries are. I trained him from a puppy but for an adult dog it’s much the same.

My dog poos and pees in this spot, that’s up to you but I found he understood it easier when he knows all toilet happens here, rather than pee wherever but poo here.

Pick up the poo in the garden and put a bit on the new area.

Try to figure out your dogs timings, do they poop/pee half an hour after eating? 10 minutes after coming back from a walk? Etc. Or if they cue for the toilet by scratching at the back door then that’s great, take them outside at these times

On a lead every time they’re let into the garden and guide them to the area, give a cue like ‘go poo’ and wait. If they toilet then lots of fuss and reward (probably won’t happen for the first few times that easily).

If no toilet then back inside for a bit and try again, it will be repetitive but they’ll pick it up eventually.

Poop?

My neighbour trained her dog to poo in a specific part of the garden!
