Toilet training puppy/ stupid question

Hi, I’m picking up my ten week old puppy tomorrow and I’m very excited!

Im slightly confused about toilet training them though. From what I remember of training my last dog it was a case of taking outside every half an hour, first thing, after meals, before bed etc and rewarding with a treat if she went.
I was planning on doing the same with this puppy but my friend has just bought a puppy and was told that the puppy couldn’t touch the outside floor until she’s had her second vaccinations. My friend is adamant that I can’t take the puppy into the garden to toilet until the second vaccination has been done.

Is this correct? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry posted too soon.

talk to your vet, depends on where you live really (aka a farm could be high risks or if you have foxes) but personally I’d do it before their vax! Enjoy your pup!

Our puppy went outside before vaccinations.
The reason a vet might not recommend is if they come into contact with rat droppings/ drink water out of a puddle they've been in.
If there isn't a risk that this will happen (ie if you keep an eye on them) you should be fine.
Start training them to wee outside from the get go. Puppy pads are a terrible idea!
