Can I put these on the bird table?

I've got a bag of monkey nuts and jumbo peanuts (not salted) that have gone past their sell by date

Can I put these on the bird table if I smash them down a bit?

And do I need to take the nuts out of the shells if we also have squirrels?

Squirrels and magpies will love the monkey nuts. Maybe even kindly bury them in your garden for you!

I would chop the jumbo nuts up so the bigger birds don’t take them all, crows etc will fill their beak up and fly off.

No they do it themselves.

Put them all out. 30 mins later a squirrel was sat there happily eating all the nuts whilst 2 pigeons waited their turn, after the pigeon had filled their bellies, a starling came and took what he wanted and in between all this, the friendly garden Robin kept jumping in quickly and sneaking what he could.

An hour later and all was gone 😳 the dog was snuffling around on the ground beneath bird table for scraps 🤣
