Son suddenly scared of our kitten

As the title says, we got our beautiful little kitten around 8 days ago. My son was so happy and excited, fast forward to 3 days ago, and he has suddenly developed a fear, to the point of not being in the same room. He will scream and run if the kitten comes by him..

As anyone got any ideas what i can do?.

This happened with my daughter and I posted on mn and I was told to get rid of my cat who I had before my daughter was even born 🤦🏻 She’s fine with her now but it did last a while but glad I didn’t listen to the MN “advice”

How old is your son?

Is he able to tell you what he's afraid of? Did he get scratched?

It's very early days, I'd probably just let him give the kitten a wide berth for a bit. I've got an 8 year old cat, my 4 year old goes through seemingly inexplicable phases of being scared of it once in a while. It generally passes without me having to do anything differently.
