3 cats and a springer spaniel and some neglected fish - our rabbit died I haven't worked out how to tell my youngest daughter yet

Beauregard · 24/01/2008 22:41

Gibberish is that when they leap about?
Our two are so greedy or maybe i have giant mutant guineas?

2sugarsagain · 25/01/2008 05:53

Aw, guinea pigs are sooo sweet. We bought our two, plus the rabbit, back in the summer, against my wishes (and, as suspected, I am the muggins who cleans out their hutches). Sadly, one GP died shortly after we got it (the vet said it was traumatised, probably by our Springer while in the run).

But, compared to our boxing, biting, scratching, possessed-by-the-devil lop e.)ared rabbit (who had me in A&E 3 weeks after we got it) the gp is an absolute darling. (This is from someone who said at the outset I would NOT touch the thing.) I was sooooooo shocked when dd1's friend's mum came to collect her daughter, kissed our gp and said 'They're lovely animals, aren't they. Even John (her dh) won't eat them now'

FWIW, our gp has been given a new lease of life since our dds are reading the Olga da Polga series by Michael Bond. If you have gps and children of an age that will appreciate that level of language I urge to you get some for them. They're captivating, enlightening and hysterically funny! A hundred times better than boring ole' Paddington Bear!

gibberish · 25/01/2008 17:15

Pelvic, yeah. It's hilarious Even the big one is doing it now - must be contagious! Good sign that she is well again.

One Persian cat who thinks that she owns the house and will throw a hissy fit if you move her from a chair/sofa to sit down
Spoilt moggy.

jimbobsmum · 27/01/2008 20:29

We have a Hungarian Vizsla (Teal'c). He will be 3 in February if i'd have been asked 2 years ago I'd have said he wouldn't live till he's 3 but wouldn't be without him. His brain is just his enemy sometimes for him and us????

2 greyhounds - absolutely the best most fabulous gentle dogs in the world and great with kids - especially my 4 year old who is a monster

pointydog · 04/02/2008 18:54

1 cat. Can't name it or I'd have to kill it.

Greyhounds are a little odd, aren't they? I think it was the inability (or lack of desire?)to bark thing

sullysmum · 04/02/2008 19:07

3 Chihuahuas and 3 fish.

NomDePlume · 04/02/2008 19:26

2 black male cats - Alfie is 10, Oscar is 7 months old

1 hamster - Hattie, she is about 18 months

Kitti · 07/02/2008 16:28

Oh greyhounds do bark just not very often whch is actually nice because you don't have any fussy neighbours complaining your dog barks too much! My 2nd greyhound barks when she gets over-excited - usually if she spots a cat and she jumps and twirls around in the air trying to get loose to run after it - I have a martingle collar (however it's spelt) though so the more she pulls the more it tightens so she can't slip her lead and go after it.

WriggleJiggle · 09/02/2008 20:25

At the moment, only 2 labs and a few fish

Used to have several fish, cat, chickens, ferrets, rabbit, terrapin ...
