Living with cat allergy

I'm allergic to cats but love them and have always dreamt of adopting one.
Has anyone here been able to live with cats despite their allergies? How do you cope?
Anyone tried Pollinosan by Vogel or another medicine to reduce their symptoms?

2 dcats here.
And 4 ddogs!. Anti histamine maybe twice a week now. Hand washing regularly after stroking..
Allergies to animals easing off with age (51).
I can actually go horse riding when as a dc sneezed at the very thought!

I’d recommend whatever your course of action you do something like go to a cat shelter and become a cat cuddled or something first so you see if what ever your management plan is you can get an idea of if it works/is livable before you bring a cat into your life.
I can’t bear the posts that talk about rehoming because of an allergy- part of your research can be exposing yourself to the animals to see if it is something you can cope with. I’d even be tempted to book into a b&b for a week where the owner has pets

My daughter got one 18 months ago
I’ve gone from mild to chronic asthma and struggling to breath, also been to ill to work for 5 months now
obviiusly the cat has got to go as it’s my house and I’m not quite ready to die!
and yes it is that serious to some people

I’ve lived with multiple cats most of my life. Four years ago, I developed a permanent mild cold, but realised I didn’t have it in hotels - it was an allergy to the cats. I take antihistamines every day now. I still have post nasal drip and a tickly cough (which was a nuisance during Covid and everyone looked at me coughing), but it’s tolerable.

Our cats were feral, and came from a cat rescue charity. This is their home!
