Pet sitter cost

Hi all, we're going away for a week soon and my neighbour has agreed to feed our pet rabbit and check in on our house cat (who has an automatic feeder and is very timid so will hide from strangers) I have said that we will pay her as she often does odd jobs such as dog walking, grass cutting etc... for money, but she's not very good at saying how much she expects and says just pay what you want, meaning people often take advantage of her. We don't have much money ourselves so we can't afford to pay her loads but I do want to pay her what is fair, but we've never hired a pet sitter so I don't know what would be reasonable. So how much should we give her for a week of popping around once a day to top up water and food bowls?

Hi I've done that in the past for neighbours for free, so I would have thought £50 for the week would be enough.

For a neighbour and probable friend, £70 a week is about right.

For balance, I do this professionally and I charge £20 per day so £70 for the week is half that and probably in the ballpark

Don't whatever you do take the piss and underpay

Thank you both that's very helpful. I definitely don't want to take the piss which is why I asked, I'm very happy to pay her what it's worth, I just had no idea what that is!

My pet sitter charges £14 for 2 visits per day so I'd say £50 would be reasonable for 1 week.
